Functional Mobility with Alexis
Meet Alexis
By using functional and authentic movement drivers we address the body as an integrated system and build sustainable, functional, and efficient mobility and stability, helping to prepare you for whatever motherhood throws your way.
Hi! I’m Alexis!
I am honored to be alongside you through your journey of motherhood.
Our bodies are subject to change at every stage of motherhood, my goal is to support you - your physical, biological, and emotional body - wherever you’re at and wherever you’re going.
I’ve been working in the movement industry for nearly 12 years and as a Functional Movement Specialist for the last 7. Led by a lifelong curiosity and wonderment of the physical body and how it works, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Northern Arizona University in 2013. I then continued my fitness education by completing my Pilates certification in Mat and Reformer Pilates and Barre. In 2016 I completed a Fellowship of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute, a training that completely changed my movement theory and approach to movement rehab, goal-specific training, and general functional fitness. I hold three specialties through the Gray Institute - Foot and Ankle Specialty, Functional Golf Specialty and Female Pelvic Chain Reaction Specialty. I have had the privilege of working alongside individuals of all ages - 4-96, all goals - olympic athletes to general mobility, and have built Movement Literacy Classes for grade schools, developed dry land training programs for hockey teams and developed and lead RESTORE, a program designed to support mothers through the change in body demands driven by becoming a mother.
The RESTORE program aims to create an environment for tuning in, moving, honoring and trusting your body. We’ll address pelvic floor function and dysfunction through the full chain reaction, head to toe, to improve pelvic core strength with integrity, sustainability and efficiency. By using functional and authentic movement drivers we address the body as an integrated system and build sustainable, functional, and efficient mobility and stability, helping to prepare you for whatever motherhood throws your way.
In addition to the classes offered through GEM, I am available for 1:1 offerings to create more specific and intentional movement practices to support your current movement needs. Please contact me for more information.
